The Good Samaritan Side of ‘The Dark Knight’
Here’s a glimpse into the good samaritan side of “The Dark Knight” and how the film is positively impacting Chicago. This information comes courtesy of a reader who simply goes by the name of “M”.
Here are a couple things you might like to know about “The Dark Knight” filming.
The extras who participated in filming [from Aug. 24 to 26] were recruited from a variety of non-profit groups around [Chicago]. Instead of the extras getting paid, their fees went to non-profits around town.
As there were a couple hundred extras on set, this was a pretty nice gesture by the casting group to help give something back to the Chicago community at large.
Also, the water supplied in the holding areas had the logo for the Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation. The label read: “Our mission is to eliminate pediatric cancer and to provide hope and support to those who are touched by it.”
It’s nice to see that whomever was in charge of getting catering supplies not only supported a local company (the bottling company is based in Chicago) but also helped support a good charity.
