WhySoSerious.com is Gone, New URLs Surface as Possible ‘The Dark Knight’ Viral Sites

WhySoSerious.com, which was the hugely popular and trafficked viral site for “The Dark Knight,” is gone. The 42 Entertainment creation was professional, ingenious and mysterious.

The URL now redirects to Rent-A-Clown.com, which is tragically unprofessional and obnoxious. While I’ve made a screenshot of this hack job, it makes me cringe so much that I can’t bear to post it.

Note: The following is classified as widespread speculation.

Separately, there has been a lot of talk about two other URLs that have been registered but aren’t yet live: SeeYouInDecember.com and FakeJoker.com. I have held out posting about these because I can’t yet confirm their intention and affiliation.

If you haven’t heard about them, I’m mentioning them now so you can keep an eye out. It is currently speculated that one or both could be used in or around Dec. 2007 concurrent with the expected release of the film’s full trailer.

Both domains have been registered privately. SeeYouInDecember.com was registered on May 20, 2007 and FakeJoker.com was registered on Jan. 12, 2007.
