Chicago Tribune Finally Recognizes ‘The Dark Knight’ Filming in Chicago
Better late than never. While some have been tracking “The Dark Knight” progression exhaustively since June 8, 2007, the Chicago Tribune on Sunday finally got around to recognizing the major Chicago entertainment news.

Unfortunately, Chicago Tribune entertainment columnist Terry Armour and Becky Schlikerman spent nearly 1,300 words informing those who have been following the filming about what they mostly already knew.
For those who haven’t, the coverage could be considered an excellent wrap-up.
While the distinction between the official title of “The Dark Knight” and the working title of “Rory’s First Kiss” would have been better served in a single sentence, the article devoted nearly half its space to fleshing out this minor and entirely typical point.
The article did mention that the film’s budget is “reported to be well in excess of $100 million” and included interviews with the city’s usual film suspects (including Chicago Film Office director Rich Moskal and Illinois Film Office director Betsy Steinberg).
In a separate blurb on Sunday, Armour reminded us that “The Dark Knight” isn’t the only film shooting in Chicago. He mentioned that “Wanted” will return to Chicago on Aug. 8, 2007 to shoot select scenes with Angelina Jolie and Morgan Freeman.
