American Film Institute Refreshes List of 100 Greatest Movies of All Time
On June 21, the American Film Institute (AFI) refreshed its list of the 100 greatest movies of all time.
You should be familiar with the top 10:
1) “Citizen Kane”
2) “The Godfather”
3) “Casablanca”
4) “Raging Bull”
5) “Singin’ in the Rain”
6) “Gone With the Wind”
7) “Lawrence of Arabia”
8) “Schindler’s List”
9) “Vertigo”
10) “The Wizard of Oz”
Grouping the newer Schindler’s List – which certainly is a brilliant film – in with those classics is a surprising honor.
Those that stood the test of time were selected from an overall list of 400 films by a panel comprised of actors, critics, directors, screenwriters, editors, cinematographers, critics and historians.
The original list was released in 1998.
