‘The Dark Knight’ Set to Film in Hong Kong in November; Officials Fear Chaos
It has been quiet lately on “The Dark Knight” filming front out of Chicago. The film is now set to make noise in Hong Kong and that’s exactly what officials there fear.
While Chicago embraced the production and touted its economic benefits, officials in Hong Kong are fretting the potential distractions and “traffic chaos” to its populous city.
They have advised residents of the high-decibel city to sport earplugs. As was the case in Chicago, there is scheduled to be a good deal of helicopter filming during the evening.
“We are worried the residents will be disturbed,” Kam Nai-wai, a district councilor for the affected downtown district, told Reuters on Friday.
“We welcome the movie but want to ensure arrangements are hassle free,” legislator Kwok Ka-ki told Reuters. He added in reference to the helicopter sequences: “Just don’t get it done in the middle of the night.”
