I learned on Thursday morning that actress Laura Linney and director Tamara Jenkins will be in Chicago on Oct. 18 for “The Savages,” which will be the closing film of the Chicago International Film Festival on Oct. 17

The film, which also stars Philip Seymour Hoffman, is described with these words:
