Exclusive: Detailed Report Foreshadowing Saturday Comes in From Wizard World Chicago Activities on Friday

At 5:17 p.m. today, a reader submitted to me an excellent report of Friday’s activities at Wizard World Chicago. Information in this post is critical to activities on Saturday related to “The Dark Knight”.

The Dark Knight

I just got back from Wizard World Chicago today (Aug. 10).

I have exciting news! At the end of the DC Nation panel today, it was announced that there will be a panel for “The Dark Knight” [on Saturday, Aug. 11]!

While they didn’t specifically mention “The Dark Knight,” they did drop several hints that it’s definitely going to be that. Here’s the information:

At 10 a.m. [on Aug. 11] at the DC Comics booth, several things will be given out to those lucky enough to be at the head of line to get them:

1) A secret item.
2) A wristband.
3) A piece of paper with important instructions.

The wristband will get people into a “special DC/Warner Bros. presentation” in the Dave Cockrum Room at 6 p.m. (not 2 p.m. as previously thought). They’re going to pack the room full with people.

No electronics of any kind allowed. Nothing that can record sound and/or images. This includes cell phones, MP3 players, video cameras, still-image cameras, etc.

No one will be allowed in the panel if they have any of these items.

Though I wasn’t sure if this was a joke (even though they said they were being serious), apparently there will be people scoping out the room with night-vision goggles.

They said they want this to be something special for the people in the room and not something special for 1 million people on YouTube.

At the beginning of Wizard World [on Friday] morning, I talked to a guy working the DC booth.

At first he acted like he knew nothing about any “The Dark Knight” panel, but after his boss left, he told me there will be footage shown (but no trailer).

I will be attending Wizard World Chicago on Saturday and will be mobile publishing breaking news. Stay tuned for real-time updates.

8:18 a.m. update on 8/11/07: Here’s a report from Comic Book Resources that independently confirms the report above.
