Chicago Casting Call Issued For Oct. 1 Production Start of ‘Chicago Overcoat’

With filming for “The Dark Knight” and “Wanted” winding down in Chicago, I am bringing you new information about the Chicago production of an independent film called “Chicago Overcoat”.

The Dark Knight

Production from Beverly Ridge Pictures (3 First National Plaza, Suite 1600, Chicago, IL 60602, 312-696-5430) is scheduled to start on Oct. 1, 2007 and run through Nov. 30, 2007.

I have been e-mailing with Beverly Ridge Pictures casting director Chris Charles. He described the film with these words:

“Chicago Overcoat” takes a chilling look into what remains of the most powerful organized crime syndicate in the second half of the 20th century.

They were known as “The Outfit” and controlled the city of Chicago.

Their most deadly hitman – the notorious Lou “Flower Man” Marazano (Frank Vincent) – killed several high-profile officials without leaving a trace of evidence.

Years later, he is being pursued by a relentless but terribly flawed detective along with The Outfit street boss Lorenzo Galante (Mike Starr).

Lou Marazano takes on one last job for The Outfit boss (Stefano D’Agnostino) but struggles with old age, a splintered family and a lifetime of regret. This is his story.

This is an independent film being produced by Beverly Ridge Pictures. We are all Chicago-based filmmakers and aim to bring more film productions into the city.

Frank Vincent (“Raging Bull,” “Casino,” “The Sopranos”) is playing the lead role of Lou Marazano and Mike Starr (“Goodfellas,” “Dumb & Dumber”) is playing the supporting role of Lorenzo Galante.

Also, Kathrine Narducci (“A Bronx Tale,” “The Sopranos”) is attached to play the supporting role of Lorraine Lionello. Aside from these celebrities, most of the cast and crew are all local talent.

We will be shooting the film Oct. 2007 through Nov. 2007 in and around the Chicago area.

The primary actors are Frank Vincent, Danny Goldring, Mike Starr and Kathrine Narducci. The producers are John Bosher and William Maursky. The director is Brian Caunter.

The screenwriters are John Bosher, Brian Caunter, Josh Staman and Andrew Doyd. The cinematographer is Kevin Moss. The production designer is Philip S. Plowden. The casting director is Chris Charles.

An advertisement for a casting call for “Chicago Overcoat” was posted on Aug. 25. The film can be found on IMDb here.
